What do I need to know?

    How long will my WeSwap card take to arrive?

    Your card should arrive within 3-5 working days in the UK, or within 10 days if you live outside the UK. Your card will be in a plain envelope with no WeSwap branding – this is for security – so keep a lookout for it!

    Are there fees?

    WeSwap card cost: Zero. Zip. Zilch.

    Swap fees: Swap between our 18 wallet currencies and pay the following fees:

    7 Day Swap – 1.0%
    3 Day Swap – 1.3%
    Instant Swap – 2.0%

    You can also use your card instantly in over 180 countries. So don’t worry if the currency you need isn’t in the app. There’s a 2% fee for these transactions.

    ATM Fees: Any withdrawal over £200/$200/€200 are free of charge

    Anything less than that will cost £1.50/€1.75/$2.25. See here for all our withdrawal fees in other countries.

    You may be charged fees by an ATM, so keep an eye out. They should let you know before you complete your transaction.

    Lost card replacement fee: £4.95 (or equivalent in another currency).

    Refund fee: £5 for a bank or debit card transfer.

    Can I only spend in 18 currencies?

    You can only set up swaps in the app or web dashboard between 18 currencies.

    However, your card can still be used instantly to spend in over 150 currencies (we call these Global Currencies). Just load your home currency wallet and use your card like a regular debit card, wherever you see the Mastercard logo. We’ll make the swap instantly as soon as you make a transaction.

    Great, how do I order the card?

    We make it easy at WeSwap.

    Click on the sign up button found on any of our pages or download the app.

    Follow the prompts to create your account. This should only take 2-3 minutes.

    Usually, we verify your account automatically. You’ll get an email with a link to click and you’re good to go.

    Once verified, we’ll send your WeSwap card out. It should arrive within 3-5 working days in the UK, or within 10 days if you live outside the UK. Your card will be in a plain envelope with no WeSwap branding – this is for security – so keep a lookout for it! 

    You don’t need to wait for your travel money card to start using your account. You can load and swap while you wait to put your card straight to use when it arrives. 

    If we’re unable to validate your account automatically, we will ask you to provide some documentation – but this is only required for a very small number of people.
