We launched in 2015, with one thing in mind: putting power back into the hands of ordinary travellers. We thought, we don’t pay a fortune to change a 20 pound note for 2 tenners, so why do we pay so much to change foreign currencies?
So we got to work.
Created an app, a card, an algorithm, all designed to help holidaymakers swap currencies directly with each other. At first, you could spend in 6 currencies, then 9, then 18. Now WeSwap cards work in over 180 countries.
We’re now part-owned by over 3,000 of our users and won Best Travel Money Provider at the British Banking Awards in 2018 and 2019. We’ve seen over £250 million swapped, recruited over 500,000 users and released heaps of new features.
Today our mission remains the same: to help travellers everywhere get their currency in the simplest, fairest and most transparent way possible.

Meet the team
Founder & CEO
I founded WeSwap to make currency exchange cheap and fair for ordinary people. It seems mad to me that we ‘buy’ money when we should just be swapping.
My background started in currency trading at JP Morgan and Dresdner Kleinwort, where I saw first-hand the rates banks achieved. Then I was selected for a fast track programme at Royal Dutch Shell, where I led technology strategy and project delivery across the world, with a strong focus on payments. This experience, along with the conviction that there must be a better way to exchange currency, led me to develop WeSwap.
Chief Finance Officer
Over the last 10 years I have been working in the Retail industry across both Fashion and Luxury however the chance of joining a fast paced, high growth, tech company with a product I really believe in was one I couldn’t turn down.
I’ve always been frustrated at the exorbitant fees charged when using my cards abroad or changing money, and I’ve also seen first-hand as a user how easy the WeSwap experience is and how beneficial this is to the customer. I really believe in the way the business is looking to disrupt the market and make currency exchange cheaper for the consumer so travellers can ‘stress less and travel happy’.

What attracted me to WeSwap is that it’s a company that puts the customer at the centre of everything they do. And that aligns perfectly with my passion, which is in creating strong organisations with loyal repeat customers who are proud to promote the product and or service. Over the past 20 years I’ve helped companies such as Modo Eyewear, Sprint, EE and Lebara smash conversions , lifetime value, retention and customer satisfaction targets.
My mission at WeSwap is to bring unequivocal exceptional service to every single user at least 99.9% of the time. I am human after all.
Director of Sales and New Markets
After university, I went travelling and although most of my trip was spent playing guitar and treading sand, I started to learn about trading currency, stocks and shares. When I returned, my first role was as the youngest sales executive in Moneycorp’s history, going on to become Head of European Business Development, before leading the Corporate Partnerships and Inbound Business Dealing team.
I moved to WeSwap to leave the traditional corporate environment behind, test myself in new, dynamic markets and be part of a business in a very different phase. I’m fascinated by the concept of bringing communities together to enhance their travel experience and that’s exactly what we’re trying to build here.
