WESWAP IS THE PEOPLE'S CURRENCY EXCHANGE
OUR MISSION IS TO HELP TRAVELLERS EVERYWHERE SWAP AND MANAGE CURRENCY IN THE CHEAPEST, FAIREST AND MOST TRANSPARENT WAY POSSIBLE
WeSwap was founded in 2011 and fully launched in 2015. We now have members in 10 countries and support swaps into 18 currencies – and counting! We let travellers around the world swap currency with each other with no hidden costs, so that everyone gets the fairest rate and has more to spend on the important things on holiday. Sangria. Bike rides. Emergency sun cream.
WESWAP IS PEOPLE-POWERED, INSIDE AND OUT

Founder and CEO
I founded WeSwap to make currency exchange cheap and fair for ordinary people. It seems mad to me that we 'buy' money when we should just be swapping.
My background started in currency trading at JP Morgan and Dresdner Kleinwort, where I saw first-hand the rates banks achieved. Then I was selected for a fast track programme at Royal Dutch Shell, where I led technology strategy and project delivery across the world, with a strong focus on payments. This experience, along with the conviction that there must be a better way to exchange currency, led me to develop WeSwap.
I've been involved with building innovative, high-growth technology companies for over 18 years and am hugely excited by what we're doing at WeSwap. The travel money industry is long overdue for a change - and WeSwap is already reshaping it.
I'm passionate about building successful companies and managing and retaining talented teams. I'm currently a Member of the Board and Chairman of the Audit Committee of MTI Technologies, a traded public company, and have raised over $100mill for growing start-ups within multiple sectors.
DIRECTOR OF SALES & MARKETING
Before WeSwap I spent the bulk of my career at TNT Magazine, where I started as marketing executive and left 11 years later as MD. This included a fabulous 3 year stint managing the Sydney office. I then moved into the world of online travel as Marketing Director of Global Travel Market and Directflights.com.
I’m a keen traveller myself and have worked in travel most of my career, so to me WeSwap just makes sense. I hate unnecessary charges and get a real kick knowing I’m bringing this new, disruptive brand to life.
DIRECTOR OF SOFTWARE ENGINEERING
I built my first website when I was 14, and haven’t stopped since. After moving to London from Brazil 10 years ago, I’ve created web applications for London Symphony Orchestra, DHL, Bacardi Limited and Roche and most recently ASOS, where I led several dev. teams to deliver high impact customer experience changes.
I love the fact that at WeSwap I’m leading a team to develop a product that’s innovative, timely and genuinely helps travellers have a better time abroad. That and the free coffee.
HEAD OF OPERATIONS
What attracted me to WeSwap is that it’s a company that puts the customer at the centre of everything they do. And that aligns perfectly with my passion, which is in creating strong organizations with loyal repeat customers who are proud to promote the product and or service. Over the past 20 years I’ve helped companies such as Modo Eyewear, Sprint, EE and Lebara smash conversions , lifetime value, retention and customer satisfaction targets.
My mission at WeSwap is to bring unequivocal exceptional service to every single user at least 99.9% of the time. I am human after all.
Head Of Product
Working at WeSwap is a rare opportunity to take a golden idea and make it tangible. I’ve been building products both in London and the USA for nearly 10 years, at start-ups including MOO and Onefinestay. I’ve always strived to bring quality of thought, design and execution to whatever I’ve worked on.
I want WeSwap to become a leader in product execution, design leadership and good old-fashioned kicking ass
Director of Strategic Initiatives
I was born in London, grew up in sunny Mauritius and in between, spent some time in the French Alps snowboarding and working as a chef (and eating copious amounts of cheese). Before WeSwap, I worked as Head of Customer Experience at Guardian News and Media. Prior to that I cut my start-up teeth at HostelBookers, where I spent five years. I also launched my own start up last year called TryMyKitchen.com where I now sit proudly on the board.
I love WeSwap because people are at the heart of everything here and that’s not just some PR speak. Helping WeSwap grow into new markets across the globe is now my new mission in life. Eating less cheese is my other one.
